Tools, Windows

In response to my previous post on Disk space, Rahul suggested me to try the CCleaner application. Initially I thought that the functionality of CCleaner was similar to that of Windows Disk Cleanup

I was proved wrong ! First I ran Disk Cleanup to clear the temporary files. Later I ran CCleaner and the tool was still able to find 80MB of crap data. And going by the standards I follow to keep out the temporary files, this was huge !

Here is what the CCleaner site has to say about the application:

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system – allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it’s fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware! 🙂

And other than Disk Cleanup, CCleaner also has a registry cleaner which finds all invalid registry references and fixes (deletes) them !

Go ahead and try ! Let me know how much space you reclaimed using this tool 🙂

Download CCleaner

Yeah.. CCleaner is the best in its class.. I clean my computer once in a month. And sometimes I can clear 300 – 400 MB of clutter.

Great Tool and nice review Venu ;).

PS: This is my first comment on this blog
